It was not a normal schedule; I love
to wake up late atleast in weekends and holidays. But there was something that
forces me to visit Doha's National area (named after a huge National Panasonic
showroom) early in the morning is to get live and fresh ‘local’ chicken
sold in that area only (now that area have a vast development project and most
of the shops have already been shifted to another location).
It was 6:50 in the morning when we
started from AlSadd to National (hardly a ten minutes’ drive). We just parked
nearby a ‘Bengali’ tea shop for a 'Kadak Chai’. Normally
people out of home don't have luck to sip boiled tea everyday. At
dwelling we used of boil water put a spoon or two (varies as per the taste)
spoon sugar and dip a tea bag in it, that’s called 'Sulaimaani',
but actually i don't like tea, it’s easy to prepare coffee, just mix one spoon
'Nescafé' two spoon sugar add hot water and it’s ready. But the ‘Kadak
Chai’ they used to boil in Indo-Asian traditional method, first to
boil water alone than to add milk and boil, than to add tea and boil again upto
it get the real brownie colour. As it take more time to fix it really have a
taste which we cannot miss the chance to have a cup when around.
We ordered for two cup of tea, and
slipped in butchery beside, luckily found a good looking ‘Bhale’,
ordered to pack but unfortunately there was a queue of orders, they promise us
to fix it in 20-25 minute. OK, lets move around, tea was ready and fixed in
disposable cup, so it is easy to walk around and enjoy ‘Kadak chai’ together.
Hardly by my tenth step ahead, I
found a compatriot sitting down in the pavement, well dressed but seems
exhausted, with a can of ‘soft drink’ in his hand. Later analysed his unstable
suspicious movements and found he is ‘down’ boozed. Why I was surprised, it is
hardly 7:15 in the morning, we need something hot to comfort our throat but the
scene was different. Not all compatriot have same behaviour at all, but
one should have to think about their representation of four hundred thousand
compatriot living in the same region.
Though, a bad weekend.
